had brakes changed and now tc and hdc lights stayed on and no brake lights... I changed the pedal switch and still no joy ... Any ideas please

The pedal switch is the likely cause. The lights are driven by the switch directly, after the fuse.

There's the fault lights table.

The lack of brake lights is the main clue though. It'll be either the switch isn't fitted correctly, or the fuse feeding the brake light circuit.

I had a brand new one put in this morning and the tc,hdc lights still stay on and still no brake lights
You say you had this work done. Was it done by a garage? If so they should have noticed the lights were not working and plugged in a diagnostic code reader to find out why... which will almost certainly say the switch is faulty. As Nodge says, that may also mean the power supply to the switch.
