i have a 2002 freelander td4 van now this has just started and not all the time.the tc and hill decent light the one with the ! mark next to it lights up and if i hit the brake pedal it goes out then my come back on or may not do it for a while only had this at around 20-30mph never at high speeds any help would be great thank you

had this on mine - some switch jams - sorted itself oot after a while. found flicking up the rake pedal iv me toe turned the light orf

If you do a search you'll find lots of info about this, it's fairly common.
Usual cause is the brake light switch, sometimes it can be cured by adjustment (don't ask me how, it was under warranty) but a new switch won't break the bank.

thanks guys been to landrover got a new switch £7 and the guy said there is a modaforcation for the brake pedal switch which is a lead you plug into the end of the old lead theplug other end on to new switch.but landrover have not recalled them for this oh and it works .

Mine did that a couple of times and thought no more about it.I Went to use the hill descent last week and it never worked, is it all related ? and will a new brake light switch cure that as well ?

hi have ou tried the hdc on a hill if it dont work then it will not be the switch.but if its just the warning lights playing about then yes and has i say there is a lead that is a modaforcation for the brake switch that you plug in

A common problem is the wire from the gear leaver snapping as a result of all the flexing.
