So, this will be the third time.

Only replaced the plate about 6 weeks ago and I've discovered the damn thing is properly leaking again. New plate, gasket and hylomar was used in accordance with wammers help/instruction including leaving it to cure etc but to no avail.

So, does anyone have a fabricated bypass kit that they make and sell on? Getting fed up with it now.

Has to be something warped or uneven somewhere.

I'll take a pic, I know it won't show any warps but it'll give an idea of how bad it is. Enough to be drenching the rocker cover and staining everything.

I was properly anal the last time too with smoothing everything, keeping it all meticulously clean, perfect bead of hylomar etc.

Why keep bothering with it, just run a hose from nipple on inlet manifold to expansion tank, job done . I used a length of 6mm silicon hose. Half hours work. Discard the rest , never leak again. Car runs perfectly fine with out the poxy heater plate.

I'm on my third & still a leak. Think i'll be by-passing also. PS, the TB heater gasket sets from Island are sh!te!

What nipple on inlet manifold? And how does that bypass the heater?

Might just get some copper pipe, shape in to a U and strap it up.

I guess the pipe run is from the inlet manifold from an outlet pipe (nipple) to the TB heater and the return from the TB to the expansion tank. Just a pipe to connect the inlet manifold outlet straight to the expansion tank will bypass the TBH.

Looking good, huh

Why did they [LR] heat the throttle body in the first place?

Cold weather - help fuel atomisation at low temps. I kept mine in the loop and used silicone pipes for all the small ones, inc. rad leak off and rocker breather hoses (EVAP system)

More for the American market then
