as in...the upper and lower limits...

i have found varying figures...from 20 thou min to 40 thou min
to 50 thou max to 70 thou max...

these figures are really varstly different,,,has anyone the ACTUAL figures they should be within..

ready to fit the rocker pedestal shims, but what to set them at...??

i have one that is out when all the others are in..the one out is toolittle..ie all rest at say 60 or just above, one at 20...proberly ok, but its bothering me

theres a range as you cant set them individually ,one at 20 wouldnt be a problem if every thing else is ok or is it that rocker more worn on rocker shaft etc

wish it was...that would be easy and cheap..but have swapped rocker around ..and swapped out tappet..same issue on the valve.

it does not help though using such a crude way of measuring..ie wire..its not like i got a 18, 19,20 thou dia etc wire..but thats the recommended way!!
atleast i am doing it..not like land rover did!!

they are not accurately machined lumps rv8s,is there any valve stem protruding you could grind off a little ,no one measure depth when cutting seats
forget that its one thats less than others so wouldnt help

if you have a machine shop its not so much an issue ,but for most of us its head scratching and trying various combinations

i dont..i have a file..an angle grinder and SHED loads of determination..and a 4.6 rv8 that is just prooving why i hate them!!..not so much the engine, just the ****s who made them!

Put a strait edge across top of valves will tell you if offending valve is sitting deeper in the seat, ie offending valve will be higher than others, if all are same then prob is somewhere else
