I'm beginning to agree with you Keith, I must admit my P38 has given me years of mostly joy, and now with 165000 racked up, she's still going strong.

I have a couple of mates with L322's, one has been nothing but trouble, the other does not get a lot of use as the owner has a big Merc coupé and a Merc van so has not had a lot of problems. On both there is a lot of corrosion round the windows and the paint has rubbed off the interior plastics and for me the seats are very hard and uncomfortable, of course the latter point is just personal opinion as is my dislike of the excessive amount of light from the dash at night.:)

Weighing up the pro's and cons Keith and what I'm reading it appears you need an even bigger bottom less pocket than you would with a P38. Such worrying posts, I hear there is major steering issues and been reading about problems with steering angle sensors, mega bucks to have replaced, whole dash out?

Don't listen to the old fart, not everyones backside is so sensitive and as for steering angle sensor, my indy quoted me £200 to do, including the part, there is a quick way to do it and only dash skin needs removing...
Mine turned out to require a reset only, for which he charged me a tenner.
I gave him a Twenty. Go and buy one, you'll love it.:)

Steering columns, suspension bushes, repeated failures of the DSP due to water ingress, not forgetting the gearboxes on the petrol and the diesel both with problems, VANOS on the petrol, HID ECU's and igniters, the list is endless. Plus the parts are much more expensive, around £300 for one front suspension unit compared to £300 for a whole set of airbags on the P38. compressor, cross link valves, read the thread by rs2000custom.
