Just got back in mine today after a week out of action and am going to run it on setting 2, maf off, for a tank of juice to see how it goes, will let you know!


ive just set up mine exactly the same will be interesting to see what you get on your mpg

So got my nice shinny new synergy 2a coming :)

Done the bypass and k&n filter and that was a vast improvement so looking forward to fitting the chip.

I am looking into getting synergy2 etc .....i basicly know nothing about them....

im on a TD4 2005, and not sure....i kna know what it does ....but what is a peirburg maf?...is this 2 diff bits of kit?...

also you mention the 'bypass and k&n filter.......' whats the deal here...?

As everyone on hear will echo me in saying, don't think twice about getting a synergy 2 as it will transform your motor.

The maf is a separate part yes and I changed mine at the same time but that's optional. Search around on here as there is loads of threads about the maf.

As for the other mods have a look at the sticky thread about the egr valve bypass.

I have now done all the recommend mods people talk about on here and my freelander goes like a rocket now and now thinking about fitting vented discs to stop the beast now.

Mines on setting 2 with MAF compensation.............goes well but if I really push it over 4000rpm return fuel pipe blows off no 3 injector!!!! This little box must really boost the rail pressure............also I think one of my injectors is going leaky......will try some BG244

No, it doesn't go like a rocket. The synergy transforms them & makes performance acceptable but it aint no rocket.
As for vented discs, if you've fitted a synergy 2 then you've got a Td4 which should already have vented discs. The brakes will still be ok/adequate but not much better. Some people have good results with expensive ebc greenstuff pads (my next planned upgrade) but really you'd be looking at trying to fit larger discs & 4-pot caliper upgrade if you want to go further assuming you could find something to fit.
