ive got a 2001 (x) freelander td4 in greatcondition with 12months mot and 6 months tax good sold car all windows and doors ect work everything electrical works had a new master cylinder good set of kumho tyres 15" alloys a/c remote cental locking that works new vaccume pipes all round abs traction control hilldecent control that now works only know issue is the vcu missing and both props so guess what im going to say it its 2wd :D blue in colour cloth interior front and rear light guards i have not off roaded it at all being that its 2wd pulls well and good on fuel genuine reason for sale

I ####ING HATE IT !!! :D

always had disco and thought i would have a go with this and now wish i hadnt

as far as freelanders go i think this is a reasonable good one

maybe you would have liked it a bit more had it been 4wd? can't see the point in a 2wd gaylander

worked on loads, even with a mls gasket the liners still play up on the plus side there easy to get apart

never had one!

i have one and done the usual stuff to it, now it pulls like a train, is very reliable and gives good power output :)

dunt knock the k not when most of the td4's have so many issues ;)

L-Series is the best Freelander engine though

get a low water sensor in the expansion tank,L series is the best in all honesty, the bmw m47 (TD4) lump is complex but very tunable they can easily be tuned to 180 bhp but thats in the R75 freelanders use a different ecu so not sure if they can achieve the same

i check the coolant every day  but MHM has sold me on this idea, i just need to get my arse into gear and get one ;)

once my k goes past 3k rpm it accelerates enough for me tbh so no tuning required for me.

k's in elises i've read about have been tuned to 250+bhp with electronics and racing cams etc....

all this from an engine that is half the weight of the td4 lump

yes thats true they also turbocharged the k but that was putting a engine known for HGF under alot of strain TBH you could spend all night arguing the merits of a k series, its been reincarnated as the n series in the mg6 but toyota ripped it to bits to sort out its issues(or so the rumour goes) my thoughts are a low water sensor will give a early sign of issues before it fully cooks the engine
i am also a owner of a R75 with the td4 or m47 engine thats now done with me 87k and not had any engine issues, but on the r75 site k series failure is a weekly event

i was just replying to the, almost standard, don't get a k series they are crap statement.

many just blindly do this without actually knowing what they're talking about.

i have one and i think it's ace :)

fair enough one thing i would say in defence of the k series is HGF often gets mistaken for IMG(inlet manifold gasket) failure, anyway think we hijacked the op,s thread a tad

getting bored now my post has been hijacked i might put two posts up one for banter and a serious one

MICRA!!!!

IF YOU CAN TOW MY CAR OUT OF A LAKE WITH THAT MICRA YOU CAN HAVE THE HIPPO
