Hi guys and gals
I am going to install a 2" suspension lift on my Discovery mark 1 1993.
Do you think I would require longer radius arms front and rear and brake pipes (Braided) front and rear?
Are there any other adjustments that may need looking at?
Thanks
Keith

wuz gonna say that anorll ian..

i fitted a 2 inch paddock kit(britpart springs and procomp damper's), no other modification required panhard, break line's and radius arms/drop arms all standered..

not exspencive and took only a couple of hours the full job(check and tighten all bolts after a few mile's thou ;) )

Hi KVR I thought the same myself wanted to do 2 inch lift and stopped myself when a bloke who never had an landrover said have to change raduis arm, extent brakelines and blah blah I thought wooh!! also all them bushes to change to too cost a bleedy fortune! and then six months later reading one of them land owner mags no need!! can change the dampers and springs. 2 inch is okay anymore lift might have to extent the brakes but others are okay.

you can have a 2inch suspention lift and a 45mm body lift before brake lines, arms etc need chengeing :D

Although the front brake lines do not appear stressed on my 2" lifted disco the rear brake pipe was closed to being ripped out! I was jacking the body up to let the suspension hang and found the rear springs dislocate and the brake pipe was dead tight!

I recently posted all the mods on my 93 Spanish spec (I know I will get the pics) and found the dislocation, brake pipe, and tyres rubbing (265/75/16) were the only problems found so far in 4 months and about 6000 km. A recent trip to Spains version of the 'Grand Canyon' put the truck through some serious landscape and no problems were found.

regards

Dave

why you thanking me?? I tried to save you the none needed hassel.

ARTICULATION is the key!!!!! hope you have the right springs so you don't have LESS than standard :D

Good point the articulation is there but the springs need guides to allow them back home to seats the shocks (9000 series) have bundles of travel.

hi, im going to be fitting the 2" lift on mine tomorrow. just springs and shocks with a few new bushes thrown in. il let you know how it goes. ive been asking the same sort of questions to people!! suck it and see.

Stebbo good luck and let me know the results I am not as brave as u are! hehe well yeah but the cost for brushs brakes line and etc etc talks money! anyway good luck

for a 2 inch lift there's no need to do all the line's and bush's(unless they need it due to age/wear that is)..

for a 2 inch spring lift you take out the old standerd spring's and replace with the new one's you buy same with the damper's..

the whole job shouldent take more than a good afternoon to do, i do suggest getting new front shocker mouting ring's for the turret thou, but these are only a tenner for the pair(maybe cheeper elsewere)..and its 12 bolt's for the front and 8 for the back for the full job if i remember rightly.

if yer spending good money on new suspension, ya may as well go the extra mile and put new bushes all round. i generally replace mine once a year coz me landy lives offroad.

aye true..

i did go the whole hog and got noo line's and polybush kit but you don't have to if cost is a problem, you can get them as and when needed rather than do for the sake!
