Hi

Well i got my new discovery 1 yesterday and today i want to order a lift kit for it and a few extras:D

im looking at the following do you think i have picked well or is there any recommendations on what else i could have gone for ? and is there anything i have missed ?

Pro Trac Extended Bump Stop
Pro Trac - Rear Dislocation Cones (will i need front ones ? )
Terrafirma Gas Shock + 5"
Terrafirma +2" springs
gwynlewis4x4 wading kit
Safari Snorkel

also have some insa turbo and modular wheels all ready to go on it here.

cheers for any help and advice in advance

Hosen very well.just get some arches aswell as the insa turbos will rip them apart. Camel cut

Read Treweys thread 'before you lift read me' ! Youll want to get radius arms, wide angle props and trailing arms replaced to do a proper job. Prop donut if you have one, can fail early with a lift.

q on similar vein

having fitted the +5" shocks and the gwynlewis4x4 suspension turrets 8274.

Problem i now have is the air intake pipe fouls the top suspension strut - see the pic below.

How do peeps overcome this?

feck, feck, and triple feck!!!!!

fitting rear suspenders today and realise i cant fit re-location cones! bloody body has dropped and I only have about 20mm clearance on top of the spring location turrets - and i need about 50mm to fit a bolt thru the top plate :(. dont fancy lifting the body at the mo .

will fit without for the time being. do the lift when i can get a couple of acro props. maybe leave it until i get the rear xmember sorted - next year.

dont think I will need them green laning anyway :).

bugger, bum & bollix - why do we do stuff on these feckin motors?.........

went to fit the extended brake lines today :(.

every bloody union is seized solid - had to cut the rear top flex off, found the fitting is seized on the copper pipe, got covered in brake fluid, face, tee shirt, hair. having spent 4 hours on just the rear flex, thought "feck it" and had my October shower early :mad:/

finished fitting all the stuff, bled the brakes, wire brushed wheel arches, Kurusted and hammerited ready to underbody schultz when its dry.

took it for a spin around the block :).

Q for you guys ..... steering seems tight to turn from straight ahead, "kicks", then turns.... is this normal for a 2" lifted disco without camber adjustment arms?

underbody schultzed all 4 wheel arches today.

regarding steering problems - are the camber adjustment front bushes OK?

Mine doesn't do it but the steering does feel rather vague without the castor correction arms. Mines lifted slightly more than 2" atm though as I've not fitted a winch or anything and got the medium duty terrafirma kit.
Steering doesn't self centre very well either.

Correction arms are definitely next on my list as well as getting rid of the donut on the rear prop.
