The further out you stick ya wheels the more leverage you apply to the hub & axles components. & the more likely you are to find a gate that's too narrow to squeeze thru. & if you don't extend ya wheel arches yu stand a good chance of getting a ticket of the plod..

Yea, you dont want to give your wheel bearings any more excuse to lock up than theyve got already, its not much fun when they do. :crazy_driver:

On re-assembily i replaced the stub axle, all the seals and bearings (did the swivil seal too, inspected the CV and filled up the swivil with new grease too). The other side is new too, and the back axle is a good used one so should be ok but im gona check it. Still abit shakey about driving at faster speeds.

Booger tyres lookin good (bar also) have to sort out another day with kev, darren and myself maybe a few lanes round hindhead again?

We will have to find out when there is a pay and play day again we were going to do slindon last week but the younger boys had a cupfinal:mad::D:p.we havent been out since core .

Cant do this weekend but we could do a night run maybe friday? done one a little while ago and it was good left at about 20:00 and got in at 3:00:D

I'm always here, that's the advantage of having a pub in the garden :) Why don't we have a days laning somewhere, or pay and play probably better, then come back here and get sh1tfaced! I have a horrible neighbour we can throw bricks at :D

I'll dump the spacers as soon I find an axle, someone offered me one, but then someone else stole it :p

Hey Lee,

Definately keen on another outing, I probably don't have enough light for a night run at the mo, but another pay and play would be good, it was hard to really see what the tyres could do on Sun, cause the lanes weren't all that tough, cept for the bit that broke my bumper! :)

Hi mate, what sort of axle are you looking for?

It's sounding better all the time! Brick Kiln, the place where I broke my car. Not going in any pits til I have my snorkel!
Yes please would like to throw things at your neighbour :brick:

we saw some might interessting snorkels at Core when we went the other week, some were made from garden hose :D Sure Chris can knock you up
a snorkel by then ;)

Hey Chris, Rear Disc Brake axle for the defender ! I'm not sure those drums at the back are even working any more ;)

Booger you can have first dibs on James's axle as you are more likely fit it sooner than I would. :D

Thanks that's sweet of you, but I'm not really in any huge hurry, and there are plenty other axles about, I've been offered a couple already, and I'm not sure when I'll get around to doing it myself.

Wanting it now, and doing it now, are two different things in my book... also wuz only winding you up when I said someone stole my axle :D

So if you want it go for it, shouldn't take you long to fit it, you are a mechanically minded person, unlike me, who will have to pay someone to do it !

that sounds a remarkably good idea

ditto, not knowing when i'll get round to it.

i'm sure i'd have no trouble fitting it, just a little bit bigger than working on motorbikes. I'm just lazy these days and i'd probably ask my dad to fit it for me seeing as he's a lr mechanic

:d

any of you guys done the lanes near haslemere? just looked on one of the military maps i have, and the place is littered with what look to be some pretty decent boats!

Your not having parts of one of DodgeyDiscosJamez's dodgey discos are you? ;)

No Medusa is :D I'm going somewhere with a warrantee :hysterically_laughi

Seriously, I have been thinking about the wisdom of replacing an axle that was reconditioned 6500 Miles ago with one of unknown origin, or with one that belonged to James :D

I have seen a disc brake conversion for a drum brake axle Zeus Engineering, but it's a bit hexpensive, like 525 squids, is there not a cheaper way to do the conversion ?
