My previous vehicles were treated with such respect..........nice clean and shiny, no dents or scratches........

Cool - starting off gently sounds like a sensible idea. Happy to start cautious and get bold/silly from there! I'll keep watching to see when the generous LR folk are willing to initiate me. I look forward to it!
 
ah ok, just up the A3. ive got family in morden.

If you want to do some lanes, the ones nearest to me between effingham/leatherhead and dorking aren't to bad to start off with. Have taken a bog standard frontera down there with no problems. Can be a little scratchy at some places but nothing to bad
 
Pintsize the con rod is a bit of a mess, but looks like you have been lucky and nothing else too bad. When done should be better than before it took a dive.

Thanks Discojamz - that sounds like the ticket! Discovered yesterday that one of my batteries has given up the ghost... My 1st "breakdown" in the cruiser in a year of ownership:D I need to get that sorted this weekend or during the week if I can escape work.

Nice one :D Kwambo is only about 20 minutes from Empangeni where I grew up. Kwambo is not exactly a happening place, even by Zululand standards - guess your family moved away (escaped!) :confused:
The Zulu looked a bit odd - normally the "how are you" would be "Kunjani", never heard heard Unjani before.... All good humour though!

To DesperateZ, Yip we escaped to Durban ! I think Unjani is from the Outer Babanango dialect :D (that's my story and I am sticking to it !)
