The sunroof on my 08 L322 has stopped closing fully. From fully open or tilt when it closes theback edge drops down about 5mm. This is now enough to give wind noise. Can adjust manually but not ideal. Anybody any ideas please?

Mine did the same. The cause was disconnecting the battery so it just needed a reset. If you push the tilt button in and hold it in for 20 seconds the sunroof will open in tilt just a shade further and stop. The rest is complete and it will then auto close and level out with the roof line.

Yep that's it!

Tech Tip: Auto Close On Sunroof isn't working / Sunroof Doesn't sit Flat
I ran across this tidbit on RangeRovers.net and it has saved me twice. First my sunroof wouldn't sit flat causing water ingress and excess air noise, this solved that. Then it wouldn't one touch close this can also fix that.

To Fix: Hold the sunroof tilt button until you hear a the motors click, let go of the sunroof tilt button then press and hold the sunroof tilt button again and it will continue to set itself.

It does seem that more and more things can be fixed on modern cars by a reset. Had to do something similar on sat nav. have herd of similar things with central locking too.

PERFECT! Was just ready to have to take my 2012 RR Supercharged in due to sunroof not closing all the way and having my liner ruined with water at carwash. Wanted minimum to diagnose and then as most I've heard rather than repair, the dealer would recommend motor replacement. Just followed the advice of holding the sunroof lift button for 20-40 seconds until I heard the click, then opened it normally, then shut it normally and voila, it worked and is now back in order. This is my first forum and since Im not working now this has saved me lots of $$. Thank you all for great advice and thoughts. I know now where to go and hope to help others along!

Thank you so much for this fix! I realize my reply is years later but I just got my 2011 Range Rover HSE Supercharged and this is no longer an issue. Great post! Now onto the parking brake fault and no parking assist...☺

Welcome, we usually rely on the manual parking assist i.e..leave the towball attached at all times, reverse until you hear a crunch and your parked.;):D
