The sunroof is unreliable to start with. They're prone to failing/jamming although many say it's largely due to lack of lubrication. Though, they're still poorly engineered compared to other mechanisms. You don't expect Land Rover to screw up relatively simple engineering tasks and this certainly isn't the only aspect of the car that will make you wonder. Need to open your tailgate door to fetch your deicer during moderate snow/ice conditions? Forget it, aint gunna happen.
When I bought my car, they didn't tell me that the sunroof wasn't working properly and sadly I didn't check. I decided to test it on my way home and unfortunately it jammed open and refused to close again. I wasn't overly annoyed at this point as I thought I'd just shut it up/disable it for good when I got home. (I don't like sunroofs anyway) However, it soon started raining and I was completely soaked by the time I got home. Since then, I've had an ongoing love/hate relationship with the car.
Unless you really like it, I'd suggest shutting it and taking the fuse out.
