Right then here we go again, i have just removed the trackrod off me Landy and the passenger side track rod end we not come out of the track rod. It is a left hand thread. We have tried soaking it in diesel, some WD40 and applied a bit of heat but it we not move . Any ideas on how to remove it:confused: ?

1. use two hammers and hit it from both sides at once
2. Do it up a 1/4 turn first.
3. Leave it to soak in old brake fluid over night.
4. Buy a new stearing rod (£20issh form paddocks..)

Or you could just talk dirty and swear at it like most of us do:D

wot you need is a gird big pair of stilsons and a length of pipe slip pipe over sticky up bit of ball joint then apply stilsons to the track rod. rotate in opposite directions and swear alot

Thanks for your help everyone. The track rod end is now off and replaced with a new one. I used alot of heat and alot of shouting (dont think it liked the shouting).

Ahhh now you see - thats where u have it wrong
track rod ends are obviously female:rolleyes:

it could stand the shouting all day long - it was the silences it didn't like:eek:

Hello again. Just another update saying I have had to take the other track rod off (the one from the relay to the wheel) and it is a good job as well. Both of the track rods rubber boots were perished beyond reason, and even the nearside balljoint had lots of play. They both came out of the tack rod fairly easly. Just a bit of an updatee for you all :)
