Hopefully you will have learned your lesson?

This is why we say
“Never go out on your own”. We could be looking for 2 bodies this morning :(.

To be fair two vehicles isn't on yer own.

I'm a bit shocked that between the FB groups and LZIR these lads have had to spend the night out :(

If a 4x4 equipped with a rear locker isn't getting out 2winch equipped vehicles working in tandem are needed I reckon.

Do you need any help ? I have some time and chains.... Need an more accurate location.

To be fair someone offered to go pick them up.

Think how close they will be now :eek::eek::eek::eek:

My understanding was that the second vehicle was a “rescue”, not a laning partner.

Is there no version of SE 4x4 response near by?

Just remembered, i have a friend who is often in the area, ill see if he can render assistance.

We have an accurate location for those willing to go, but I suggest @tom sayce contacts you by pm.
Oh is that how it works... they post on here then everyone who wants to help is contacted by them individually ?

South of Kington is quite vague..... Not to worry I am sure they will be ok. I cant do much later in the day as I have a duff light stalk but I will be going into Shrewsbury later.

Oi sandal boy, I offered to go. I have a discovery tdi on all terrains so I doubt I'd get close. I can put today's plans on hold but I'll need to know sooner rather than later. He said last night that he had help coming this morning.

Sort of.
BB & I keep a list of contact numbers for those willing to help. However, as circumstances may change on a daily basis, it is up to the individuals to decide if and when they can help. It is best if the OP and said individuals talk to confirm location, help required and whether the situation changes..
LZIR is NOT a LZ organisation, just a collection of helpful peeps that help as and when they can. We always suggest never going to help on your own, unless you know the person in trouble personally., because there have been instances of "trouble" and it is possible, like above, that you then get stuck as well.

Yes and it's appreciated, I'm not knocking anyone and certainly not your generous offer.

It's more that a few years ago we'd have had half a dozen Landys converging from all over and the forum would have been buzzing with excitement and desperate for news.

I'm not sure what's changed. It's not a dig at anyone, it just makes me a little sad.

Shall I meet you there then?

Have the peeps who are stuck advised how far from a normal road they are? Will another vehicle get anywhere near them to help with recovery? Do they need peeps with snow shovels to dig 50 meters worth of snow off the lane for them to get moving? Is the help they thought they had available this morning available and on it's way or actually happening today?
