Well done guys, having done the LZIR bit myself recently, it's a good feeling to help someone out and hopefully educate them a bit in doing so. The guy I rescued paid for and sent me a LZIR sticker which is now proudly fixed to the back of my landy.

:) I just thought it was the least I could do really - you and Lee were a massive help that afternoon I found myself stuck... (and clutch-less!) :eek:

I really felt for this guy as I was reading - but personally, for me... I would never have left my vehicle like he did. It's fair to say I've not been the most active member of the site since my rescue - but that's mainly down to the fact the site is such a wealth of collective knowledge.

I've had a few issues (to put it mildly!) :rolleyes: with my Series lately and each time I've searched the site and found the info I've needed, so there was never a need to ask the same old questions... But still, I hope the OP sticks around and maybe sends a LZIR sticker to those that rescued him? (hint hint! ;) )

It should be compulsary for all attending a callout to wear their underwear outside their trousers so there is no confusion between rescuers and rescuee in the pics

Firstly I'd like a pint of whatever BB's been drinking :D :D

Hooge round of applause :5bhurray::5bcheers2::5bgrouphug:

Oh and ya could always start a this was what I done thread ;)

Guys I'm still around. I've not just asked for help, then buggered off.
I'd like to contribute more to these forums like you're saying, but you lot already know way more than me anyway. So I don't really have much to say, I don't want to end up being that annoying guy who just gives his opinion where it's not wanted, annoying everyone.

Also if anyone needs help like I did I'd be happy to help. My discovery isn't exactly kitted out though so I may not be able to get to some of the places you guys might. How do I make it so that I'm 'officially' a person that can rescue someone? I'm usually in the midlands most of the year and in Northumberland in the summer.

there are plenty of ways to get stuck into this forum have a look around in anything goes most people don't talk about land rover in there look at the green lane section you will also find people to go out and play with that way you can get more experience and then start putting more into this

Get over to the "for sale" and try to sell sumffink, or ask if bigger tyres will stop you getting stuck:D:D

Do NOT follow the above advice:p:p but you could just hang around ready to jump on the bandwagon next time someone gets stuck laneing alone;)

Mate, you don't need a fully kitted out off-roader and a garage full of tools. Sometimes someone can be stuck at the side of a road needing something as simple as a coolant hose. Having someone pick one up from a local factors and running it out to them at a motorway services or whatever will be as important to them as getting dragged out of mud was to you :)

Wot he said innit. :D

Good evening all.
May I be one of the many to add my congratulations to those who coordinated and performed the rescue against what seemed to be overwhelming suspicion and doubt.
You chaps are a real credit to LZIR, Land Rovers and Britons in general! Perhaps one day I may be able to earn the LZIR 'wings' that my Landy wears so pridefully!

P.S. I am 100% for the idea of wearing underwear on the outside and capes when performing rescues!
