I have herd that customs don't like full jerry cans on vehicles when crossing borders or going on boats and trains so i though a extra fuel tank would be a good ides. Plus i think it will come handy when exploring the gobi desert!
Yup thats my plan!Aux tank is by far the best way to store fuel. Keeps the weight low and central and you don't have jerry cans attracting attention. You just going to have an aux pump to pump into the main tank?

I’d recommend the facet red top fuel pump. Pretty sturdy and has its own internal filter that’s removable
A gentle heads up re' Facet pumps [blue, red, silver and gold tops]. Facet automotive pumps are good but they suffer from failure points...
1. they don't like vibration - they must be mounted using the rubber mounts provided.
2. they don't like crud in there filters as the pump is cooled/lubricated by the fuel - always use a pre-filter with Facets
3. ideally, install a Filter King with fuel filter and pressure regulator post Facet pump [in engine bay] to set up correct fuel flow/pressure - the glass bowl units are best giving a ready viewer of the fuel/dirt condition.
I've driven/rallied across lots of rough terrain in many continents using Facets and they always fail if not installed correctly + I'd really recommend running twin Facet pumps in parallel as one day, one will fail and leave you stranded...don't ask Oh, and don't buy the little cube jobbies, they crap. Apart from this, they're great pumps

Get one of those outboard bollox pumps. That way you can pump fuel with you left foot whilst cruising and avoid a DVTCheers for the heads up!
My plan is to use a stock in tank pump in the auxiliary tanks and pump to the rear.
