In two years of Urbex and over 40 sites I have never maliciously
Damaged anything or forced entry. I've travelled 70 miles, not found a way in and turned round and gone home.

Yes it's trespass. No it Isnt vandalising

Thanks for taking an interest johnny you do see some incredible sites! From the brilliantly clean upped and left to the years of nature taking over, there is so much out there!

what really interests me is when yer come across the remains of an old vehicle hidden in a farmers hedgerow out in the middle of nowhere its rather akin to that documentary last night (the elephant life after death) same as a dead animal can feed others a dumped vehicle gets pillaged to keep others on the road and as a result it can be seen years later

but wondering round old buildings that havent been used or touched for decades and seeing how they turn out also amazes me especialy if its an old farmhouse or the likes and you can almost read the houses lifespan such as holes in floorboards where the bathroom used to be versus where it actualy is and past repairs done to combat rot and insect infestation

thing is i aint done anything like that since i turned 16 coz i could be prosecuted at that age but if your a minor its a slapped wrist and taken to mum n dad for a bollocking

wouldnt mind getting back into it though :cool::cool:

its also great later on in life when you see someone rebuilding one of these buildings to itsa original status and you can help by telling them what it was like when you went into it decades before such as this building i showed the fella running that site exactly where all the stone mouldings were from round the front door :D:D:D

in an old mill further down the lane that i also used to visit :cool:

even got a mention of thanks in the local paper for me help

love working on old buildings......undoing and discovering alterations, sometimes from hundreds of years ago

the best one i ever worked on was a 400 yr old timberframe cottage had to replace half the timbers like for like useing the same methods they would have

verry interesting to see all the roman type numerals chiseled into the old joints to show what went where and haveing to copy evrything exactly right down to replacing the corner post by cutting a tree down with a crook in just the right place to do the job it was a real eye opener :D:D:D

thats the type of joinery i have always done since i leaft school and the way the country is at the moment the building trade is on its arse and what i do is a scarecely seldom seen or known trade so i have next to no chance of finding work like im used to

sort of the last apprentace to a dyeing trade so lately i have turned my attention to work that is of abundance if you think about it

evry terraced house has a chimney as old as the house possibly had the roof reslated but the chimney never gets touched ive got together with a mate of mine and we now specialise in refurbing such chimneys ie; new lead flashings fully grind the brickwork out and repoint re cap the fekker and reset the wonkey pots they look the dogs bollox when theyre done and should be reet fer another 100 years well worth the £270 to any homeowner thats £70 matereals and £100 each fer me n me mate done in 1 day

done our first the other day and while we were there 2 people from the next street saw what we were doing and enquired for it doing and the owner of the house asked us to fit new windows in the front of his house so not a bad day at all :D:D:D

good luck with the work......still a fair bit of oak framing down here, pick up enough to keep my hand in
