tbh, if it has a good chassis and solid bulkhead - then the way prices are going, it saves you twice that in rebuild costs. Body off, rebuild/replace chassis/bulkhead, put back together - some would say it was worth that to avoid doing such an involved excerise - others will feel it spoilt their fun! ( I am one of those - I buy a tattier one I can do up! lol!)
The series seem to be flying through the roof at the moment, and I suppose with this ones' history, he is hoping to cash in. A cleanish series will fetch daft money at the moment as investors are buying classics instead of leaving money in savings accounts.
Have a look around at some other resto projects and decide what you want to do. You may reconsider its' value - after all a car is only worth what someone wants to pay - on the other hand, you may find a peachy alternative for less money!
