took a little laning trip to see a mate of mine from years ago and got talking bout landys and offroading and how i was looking for a series 3 he then showed me this hiding round the back of his barn

on a quick poke round it seems to have been rebuilt bout 10 years ago meaning its on a new ish chassis wich is rock solid the bulkhead is solid but the cab leaks like a sivve the engine runs sweet as a nut for a 2.25 diesel and looks to have been rebuilt with the new chassis ( my mate thinks its scrap ) the only rust i can find is on the exhaust and the front bumper ends and the only reason ive not driven it is the clutch pedal is siezed solid

it is on a Q plate but im not bothered bout that its a series all the same and its been stood for some 7-8 years now

just wondering what would you lads offer him for it im thinkin round the £300 area due to its current state is this a fair price ( remember its being sold from one mate to another ) and i dont wanna seem to be taking the **** out of him :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I like it, you are still looking for the old one right ? Now you see im a proper yorkshire man, tight as a ducks arse. I would be tempted to say "look i have £200 at home at the moment, so let me know what your after then i know what to save" ;)

If you can get that for £300 go for it,he only thinks its scrap and you are doing him a "favour" as it will need a lot of work to get on the road.
Nice find let us know if you find anymore like that :D

i have it on verry good authority that this is the one that was on the programme (last of the summer wine ) the lad supplies cars to tv programmes and has the red dingle van off emmerdale in the same field :eek:

As a fellow tight Sheffield-born yorkshireman I'd do this as well, throw in a case of beer with it and he'll be happy.

Buy it..do it up to same spec as tv programme...folks pay silly money for tv items...get it checked/confirmed by Aunty Beeb with a few stills if poss.

nice find that JC, I'm a bit jealous really, owning Wesleys land rover is second only to owning Fred Dibnahs. :D

I miss Fred - he was my inspiration - a lot of knowledge and passion all gone cos of the "Evil C" :( **sigh**

BTW - is that moss, or a green carpet in the drivers floorwell ? :D
