2005 110 Station Wagon Defender ROW spec
Stolen white Land Rover doors. Front driver door and drivers side passenger door. Approx 9.30-9.45
4 white males
Used a silver estate possibly Volvo. RegEM21TKX
Aftermarket exhaust can on left rear, distinctive sound.
Removed passenger rear door but threw at my partner and has already removed bolts for front passenger door.

Sorry to hear about this. Presumably reported to the Police? Keep on to them to circulate the car details and investigate. Worth putting on other LR forums too.

Update
The vehicle has stolen/cloned plates that have been altered.
Vehicle has been picked up by ANPR in Leicester area.
It is believed to be a SubaruForester.

Can you suggest any other forums as we are newish to this and Landrover ownership.

If it was a freelander might be they just fell off as they walked by,
(sorry in house joke hope they catch them)
Yeah very funny. Professional thieves, very quick. Only got two as interrupted but they trashed one as they threw it at us. My doors were beautiful and we would be able to identify them. Hoping someone might spot them. Police say they can’t do any more and are unlikely to recover them.

Sorry to hear that the Police don't have any resources to deal with the theft of your doors.
Maybe you should ask for a discount on your Poll Tax.

Problem is the police have little to go on. Peeps have been nicking tratter doors for years with a lot of success. They've had their own doors nicked anorl. The robbers car used on this fred will have it's false plates changed again soon I would expect, as they have been spotted during a theft.

Very sorry to hear that. Stolen parts are often sold on on-line or at auto jumbles or shipped abroad. It is worth looking out on internet selling sites. Telling as many people as you can via LR forums is helpful - the area it happened in and when, so other owners can be extra vigilant. Facebook has many owners groups.

The Police COULD catch these thieves but it would take a lot of resources and there's more serious crimes that have to take priority

This is seen as "low level" crime, although not generally by the victims.

So the thieves continue to tour the country, stealing what they want. The other issue is, the people you see on the CCTV stealing your doors are just the drones, the ring leaders are rarely caught, so even if the Police catch the thieves which they sometimes do, nothing much changes.

According to NFU Defender thefts are up 40% this year, around 4 per week reported stolen

As mentioned, it’s not the lack of resources as such, it’s more about what enquiries there are to pursue. In this case though, the cloned or stolen registration number, and potentially forensics on the door that they left behind for starters.

Police didn’t consider it was worthwhile checking with forensics as they were gloved.
Put on here just in case it would help anyone. Location Derby city. They knew what they were doing undoing all bolts before entering vehicle. Had two doors in vehicle in under two minutes.
Just going to have increase security when she is back from repair. Going to speak with Will from 4WD on Monday.
Looking for any advice on door security. Are the security hinges any better than the normal ones or deadlocks and hinges guards. As I expect them to come back for another set of doors.

It was their noisy aftermarket exhaust that gave them away. Subaru badge removed and black strip in place, if it helps anyone.

Have tried to post to landywatch but waiting to be approved. Facebook name is Rita if anyone from landywatch can approve me and my post, pretty please.

There's been a car with a noisy exhaust driving slowly round here a few nights ago.

Didn't see what kind of car it was though.

Get an alarm with vibration sensing and interior movement. As soon as they remove a door it will alarm. They could disable it but the initial alarm will tell you they're back. Change the fixings on the headlight to stop them disabling the horn.

Unfortunately that would not have stopped them. They were spotted before they removed the doors and they had two doors in vehicle before we got out the house.
They had prepared everything first before they actually took anything or broke into vehicle.

Could be the same one. We believe a black hatchback, possibly 53 plate golf. Think windows tinted and loud exhaust.
The car involved in the theft had been spotted on ANPR in Leicester. Plate is stolen and had been modified with tape, police have advised.
