A friend of mine had his Defender 90 hardtop nicked, police visited and said 'cameras everywhere, we'll get it back'. They found it the next day, tested the tape holding the swapped number plate for DNA and arrested the scum about two weeks later. Prolific car thief. Result.
Which area of the country was that?

I think it is a resource issue; police officers numbers have been cut by 20% and officers are regularly sent to cover other areas for major incidents. When Theresa refers to "extra police " being deployed she really means we have robbed Peter to pay Paul and those extra officers here means someone else goes short. I understand your frustration re SOCO etc but unless cctv exists or house to house (that you can do yourself) turns anything up then there is little evidence to gather. Fingerprints in a gate prove someone touched a gate nothing more and would not get you to court let alone get a conviction.

As with all that have posted...sorry for your lost and sincerely hope you get it back. If you have pictures or remember any unusual identification marks put it on here you never know it may be seen some where, a lot of landys are used in raids so you never know, but I wish you good luck.

The sentence for your offence would run concurrently and would be shorter than the firearm offence hence not proceeding.
