So further to a previous thread I have now fitted a new battery but will still only crank but not start .
I got a friend to tow me to try and bump start it. The car would slightly run , very very low revs but you could feel it when in second and clutch released however foot full down on accelerater didn't make a difference and when I put the clutch in it died all together.

Does anyone have any ideas at all of what could be causing it not to start please.

Desperate for help

Thank you

Get it plugged in to a machine and see what the diagnostics comes up with re fault codes...tow starts only help with dud starters and batteries

It's proved to be difficult to find a mobile person with the correct computer / tool to be able to come and plug it in for me. This would be the ideal way to see what's going wrong. Need to call round more places to see what I can find

The high pressure fuel pump regulator O rings will cause non starting.

I replaced the regulator with a working used from a used LR garage with a new o ring so that should be sorted. I thought the same myself that's why I replaced it bud

There's a lot of separate threads running on this problem, which I haven't tried reading through.
Freelander diesel?
I don't know whether raised before but are you sure the fuel cut off is working properly.

Hi mate. Yeah 2003 td4 . I've replaced the fuel cut off with a ( known ) working one so hopefully it shouldn't be that

What fuel cut off? The TD4 is a common rail engine, so doesn't need such things.

Hey mate, I'm just down the road in West Lothian. I've got a cheapie elm Bluetooth obd reader and a copy of torque pro on ma phone which has pulled codes and also cleared them too. I could maybe nip past Tuesday / wed night at the earliest, how desperate are you to get it working? Either that or order one from ebay

If fuel is getting to high pressure pump and high pressure working to injectors, injectors ok and pressure reg too then, other than a compression test the fault has to be electrically generated. The thread says you have sorted the cam sensor and it should start with the Maf disconnected so wtf.
This thread started with a limp home issue that quickly turned into a wont start issue.
What issues or scenarios trigger the limp home mode to kick in?

I bought it with the limp mode issue mate. It had been to a 4x4 garage in Falkirk by previous owner and said to be injector fault. Decided to do a good service and clean / change injectors which I did but now bloody thing won't start. Hence the need for a computer to see what codes it's giving up mate

Hang on here dude you bought it with a known limp home issue...your original post says a clean up and service and now wont start!...you were told injectors problem by im assuming the person you bought it from why didnt they fix it...whats the name of 4x4 garage in Falkirk we might know them.
Cheers Baz&Rob in the Algarve.
