There was a separate thread when I first bought the car in November just asking for advice for cleaning / replacing etc
The garage the guy used was gemm 4x4 in Larbert bud

Not familiar with them i was south queensferry way will ask Baz when i see him at garage on thurs will also run by your prob he might throw some light on subject.Rob

Spoke to Baz today and to be fair he said cause he has the diagnostics he wont diagnose or suggest anything till he has plugged vehicle in (unlike the guy he works with who ends up in the sxxt all the time replacing parts and telling owners it will be ready by the end of the day) so your going to have to get the codes read.

Yeah that's fair enough mate. I'm trying to find someone mobile that can come with a computer then I will be able to post results here. Thanks bud

Hi, bit late to enter the saga, but i have just purchased a 2003 td4 that will not start unless you spray easy start down the air intake pipe. You can turn it over for hrs and it wont start. A 1 sec spray of easy start and it starts within 3 secs and continues to run fine. Might be worth a try just in case it still has an injector fault.

It was in limp mode when he bought it requiring injectors looked at now it wont start if ive got it right.

Spoke to my mate he hasnt got intouch with edinburgh tech to pass on his number to you yet ( to make sure he does still do it will cost a lot though)but says if you want to phone him here in the Algarve on mon let me know all youve done and let him think what might be up before you do phone him.

Car doesn't drive just now thatso why needs to be a mobile guy

If your not that far away from Larbert and have no joy elsewhere, I could give you a tow to GEMM, however they are always up to their eyes (always a good sign I think)
so might be better to contact them first

The guy he bought it from had it at them if you read whole thread

I did read the thread. I understood the garage had diagnosed the fault but not repaired it, perhaps the OP could clarify

'It had been to a 4x4 garage in Falkirk by previous owner and said to be injector fault.'

I appreciate that the car was put into the garage by the previous owner but don't see anything to suggest any work was done apart from a suggestion as to what the problem was.

In the other thread referred to Dave states
'I then started to remove the injectors to clean and inspect , snapped the cam cover in the process to a replacement was bought.
Got all injectors out and 2 were done so sourced 2 from a car breakers.'

I was simply offering him assistance should he want it.
I'll leave it to him

Thanks for everyone's help and advice. I really do appreciate it all. I have managed to get a mobile car diagnostics guy coming out tomorrow after noon so at least I will know what code's it's showing etc and I will post the finding's here. Hoping to god that once that's done it's shouldn't be too hard to fix and get going.
Bursting to get out in it

Remember write down any fault codes on paper as they come up then post here..unless guy can sort there and then and get you going good luck.

Have you changed the high pressure fuel pump regulator O rings yet? A failed O ring won't show up as a fault code. But will stop is starting without assistance of some easy start. ;)
