Hi chaps,

Not sure if this is usual behaviour or not so looking for a concensus ...

EAS seems to be working as it should apart from 1 issue. After driving at motorway speed it sometimes seems to get stuck on Motorway height. Pressing the rocker button to put to any other height has no effect either travelling or stationary. The only way to get it back to Normal ride height is to restart the car (old computing trick) or press the ride height height inhibitor button switch and then select the desired ride height. After reaching the desired height and pressing the ride height height inhibitor button switch, all is back to normal ... until the next time. Could be a day; could be a week; could be a month. In short, a bit erratic.

No error codes stored. I'm tempted to blame it on the current heatwave but I'd be interested if anyone else has the same symptoms or if it is something to worry about.

After motor way mode the car will raise at lower speeds after a certain given time .
Providing the lock switch isn't activated.

Doesn't do it all the time. Most of the time it is fine. Just once in a while. Usually takes me a while to notice. So, come off the motorway and then stuck in traffic or similar and my wandering eye spots we're still at motorway height.
 
Could the rocker inhibitor switches need a wee clean? I sometimes lock mine in motorway mode, because to me the ride height on standard looks too high, even though the measurements are spot on.
 
Leave it running for 5 mins or so in access mode let the air build up go through each mode up and down twice in succession should be able to manage that and by means you are testing the switch Repeatedly.
If it can't cope with that then iv would delve deeper by means of checks in the how to section .

As far as I'm aware, it does not rise until you are traveling at less then 35mph for some distance, however I have noticed that if I have to slow quickly then crawl in traffic it will stay down until the traffic starts moving freely.
 
Is it manual or auto .... if the auto are you holding it on the brakes while in traffic? .... mine is the auto and I find the 30 seconds or so at under 35mph it needs to sense before moving back up to standard height applies as long you are not sat on the brakes as it then may think you are just under 35mph temporary at a roundabout, etc and will be back up to speed once off the brakes.

Mine used to be the same. Ages to rise back up to normal height from motorway height, even after several miles at low speed; and likewise only seemed to sort itself out after turning off ignition and restarting. But after replacing seal in compressor and sorting valve block (dodgy valve block was the reason for an overworked compressor) it's now all ok. Adjusts its height very swiftly.
May just be your compressor needs an overhaul if it hasn't had a makeover yet. Could be a small leak in the system which is emptying the reservoir and the pump is having to work hard (and long) to pressurize the system.

When mine decides to rise, it's very quick so it's not a compressor problem.
 
Mine was sticking and it was the EAS exhaust filter blocked, maybe doing what I did. Unscrew this then go for a drive, yes you sound like a bus with air brakes but my EAS worked perfect. The root cause for me was the air dryer failing and blocking this filter.

Not certain I was below 35 mph. Maybe that was it. But then why doesn't it let me override it on the rocker switch without pressing the inhibitor switch? Normally I just select whichever height I like and it just goes there.

So, sounds like the heat could possibly be muddling it a little occassionally. Until it does it consistently I won't know. It's a '95 model though so electronics could be getting a little dry by now. Or it could be the EAS filter. Cannot remember now if that was new or not. I think maybe not. Driven with it off. Sounds like a real truck!

If it has selected motorway height, you cannot manually raise it until it cancels itself or you press the inhibit switch.
 
OK. That part makes sense.

Is it under 35mph before it goes back to normal ride height? Possible I wasn't that low. I thought it was 45 mph for some reason. I thought 35mph was when it automatically dropped you from extended ride height.

Yep, its under 35mph before it senses it needs to go to normal height (when yer foot isn't on the brake pedal).
 
I'll keep my eye on it next time it happens. Been all right again recently.
