Couple of days ago the p38 passed the mot, but on the way home the vehicle started juddering and slowing; the 'abs', 'brake' and 't c' lights came on the dash. I pulled in after a few hundred yards in the nearest layby, and there was a lot of smoke coming from the nsf wheel, and a smell of burning.
I waited a while and then drove off home, just a mile, safely- the warning lights did not reapear.
The prevoius owner had put new brake pads on the two front wheels, wonder if he has not put them on correctly on the nsf, or if this a case of sticking caliper, or maybe a malfunction with the abs ??

If it was smoking I'd take it off anyway ...

just to satisfy myself that all was as it should be, the MOT is only 'fine on the day', not a numpty fitted it test ...

Back from the garage, looks like the culprit was a sticking caliper slider pin, hope that solves the problem

I have exactly the same issue with a 2007 4.2 SC, although no actual warning lights but the ride is bumpy and the car drags. The rear-right wheel was very hot when I arrived (after a 3 mile drive) I hope it is also the caliper.
