Will do.If you haven't looked in the box yet I would definitely recommend a quick check. Let me know what you find.
From the other comments I've been getting I think that I have just been unlucky and got the worst pair in the warehouse. I'm getting a bit concerned though. Spoke to Craddocks last Saturday, sent photos so the fella could crack on first thing Monday, sent another email yesterday just to confirm he had the original email and not a peep out of them so far. I hope this isn't going to be one of those pass the responsibility jobs. Will do.
I think I had a quick butchers in one of the boxes before I took them off to my storage hobby work place but you've got me worried now!
I think it is "take no prisoners" time. Ring them up and start complaining. This should have been sorted out by now. From the other comments I've been getting I think that I have just been unlucky and got the worst pair in the warehouse. I'm getting a bit concerned though. I spoke to them today. Took ages to get through to the guy who was dealing with it. He says he has got 2 new kits out of the warehouse ready and has checked them to make sure they are ok. However he says he has to wait for Britpart to give the go ahead before he can post. I guess Craddocks are going to ensure they are going to get their money back from Britpart before they do anything. Oh and in the meantime bugger the customer! Never mind. I'm confident it will be resolved.I think it is "take no prisoners" time. Ring them up and start complaining. This should have been sorted out by now.
I checked my swivel kits and all looks fine on the out side - tiny amounts of evidence on the inside of some rust. I'll try and take some pictures of it but I don't fancy my chances with the point and shoot camera I have. I'm just going to rub it off and cover it in grease...
they should just replace britpart will refund them in time ,they will have to buy replacements then later get refunded once bp have inspected them, i have a bp account if you want some parts at wholesale priceI spoke to them today. That's really good of you, thanks for the offer. As long as these swivel kits come through ok I think I've got everything to get the axle back together. If I get stuck later on though i'll let you know. Thanks again. By the way are things going ok with the other diff?they should just replace britpart will refund them in time ,they will have to buy replacements then later get refunded once bp have inspected them, i have a bp account if you want some parts at wholesale price
a bit of bull**** there ,bp dont give the go ahead, craddocks return poor parts bp eventually reimburse craddocks if its justified ,in your case not bought years ago and stored badly etc, in the mean time craddocks have bought you some moreSo I called Craddocks again tonight. Still waiting for Britpart to give the go ahead before they will swap the swivels. So I asked why I should have to wait for Britpart when I bought the parts from Craddocks. All I got back was 'i'm doing my best for you sir'. Getting nowhere fast I asked for the number of the guy at Britpart who seems to hold all the power and surprisingly I was given it straight away. Now bearing in mind Craddocks haven't been able to get hold of this bloke for 9 days I called, got his direct line and spoke to him in 30 seconds. It turns out this bloke is a psychic genius because without having seen the swivels or even any photos of them he was able to tell me that it wasn't rust on the swivels after all it was overspray from where the flange is sprayed black. He told me it would just clean off if I scratched it with my thumb nail. What a ****. Can I not tell the difference between pitted rust spots and a bit of overspray! I put him straight on exactly what was what and he said he would call Craddocks straight away and authorise the replacement. He also wanted to know who gave me his number.
So should be all ok right? Well not really because I called Craddocks back to arrange collection. Of course I couldn't speak to anyone there and then so they said someone would call me back. Did they call? Did they bollocks.
So in summary Craddocks customer service is pretty poor but if you persist long enough you will probably get there in the end and Britpart have ready prepared excuses to fob you off with before they even see what the problem is. Smashing.
I'll just be glad to get some decent parts and get cracking again. Could have done without all the faffing about though. I don't think Britpart do themselves any favours. Justified or not they have a bad reputation and when speaking directly to them I just got the feeling that the first priority was to absolve themselves of any liability. They must sell vast amounts of trouble free parts or they wouldn't be as huge as they are. If it was me I would want that reputation improved.a bit of bull**** there ,bp dont give the go ahead, craddocks return poor parts bp eventually reimburse craddocks if its justified ,in your case not bought years ago and stored badly etc, in the mean time craddocks have bought you some more
mostly because they dont deal with the public or have any system to do so ie proof of purchase or replacement of parts etc, craddocks are responsible for replacement of your order, bp cant tell craddocks what to do they are separate companiesI'll just be glad to get some decent parts and get cracking again. My wife is going to call them tomorrow while i'm at work just to arrange the collection and delivery. If it isn't 100% sorted it will have to get a bit heated. The thing is my missus is a bit scary when it comes to this sort of stuff so I hope for their sake it is sorted. The issue may even be Craddocks fault if they had the parts for a long time and stored them badly so I can't see why they are claiming BP are involved here. As I said before, your contract is with Craddocks, they sold you faulty goods and they are responsible for putting it right. If they decide to claim back from Britpart that is between BP and them, it has damn all to do with you.
I hate it when companies try to wriggle out of their obligations, I once bought a headlight off an ebay seller and it never turned up, when I contacted the guy he said he couldn't refund me until the part was returned to him even though his courier tracking showed the part was sitting smashed in their depot. I've no idea why he felt it needed to be returned before he could refund me but I got bored arguing and raised a complaint with Paypal and they refunded me in the end.
Bottom line, suggest your next phone call will be to trading standards next time your talking to Craddocks and see what happens.
yes so is mine , all theyve got to do is send you some more or refund you if parts are unavailable ,its not like its a huge monetary sumMy wife is going to call them tomorrow while i'm at work just to arrange the collection and delivery. In the end the manager that my wife spoke to at Craddocks did seem pretty decent. We got 25% off and he said that it had been handled badly. He has given us his direct number and said that if I get any problems in the future to go straight to him. It was a pain in the bum while it's been going on but I think it's sorted now. However I haven't had a text from her indoors to say that they have arrived. Maybe we're not finished yet......Bloody hell - what an effort. I don't think I'll be buying from Craddocks.
