ive got a depender 110 that hopefully will be on the road soon as long as i dont find any more holes in the chassis but it hasn't got a steering damper fitted or a rear anti roll bar are they really needed. Iv'e been told that people do remove the roll bar for going off road but it will also be used for towing
i would be grateful for any advice

ok thanks for that. It seemed like a stupid question but best to ask as it dont look like its had one fitted for a long time and there's no brackets so it looks like its been driven without one

You sure there's no bracket? If its got standard defender steering rod the bracket is on the cross rod eye, the bit that links the drop arm to steering rod and other is on chassis.Google defender cross rod eye.

it looks like its had some sort of retro fit disco style damper bolted to the back of diff the mount on the chassis is there but the front steering rod and arm are not standard.
before i got it it was used as a farm truck and there was alot of things missing or that were home made.

Its just another thing to add to the list of jobs so thats job number 1467.89... lol

You can do one of two things take off whats on there and replace the steering arm and cross rod eye and fit standard damper, or if it is the disco set up just buy a clamp and new damper, loads of places do the clamps.

i think im going to put it back to standard the steering box is leaking fluid and will have to come off anyway
thanks for the info
