No need for help with the heavy lifting but thanks, I'm taking it into work I have plenty of free time during the day to sneak a bit of time on it. Plus it's dry ;)
Can get a screen for less than £150 for the LR. Same person makes series 1 split screen heated. The loom is about the same price. So may make my own.
Doors are split early 90/S3 unsure of the price think they are Sp4x4
Even my doors will be kept as spares & will repair the bottom.
Not spent any serious money on this motor in the past 20 years so needs a bit of love.

@ironie I'm guessing you just read the lot lol

@Hicap phill I think one of her doors is perhaps able to be saved. The other has almost torn out at the bottom hinge. Those hinges are a bit of a pig. Impact driver didn't even touch them. Drilled out instead.

I am not the biggest fan of a 110csw but really like how this truck looks as a pickup. Has a lot of potential and deserves rescue. Who knows I might buy one one day but I'd be going limestone

Ordered a 10mm at screwfix, came back with 11mm. Pays to check doesn't it. Oh well that's another for the set!

Don't think I'll do much today. Dog walks and tidying up u think! Get that area half clean for my axle build

H&S.
Drinking alcohol whilst using dangerous equipment. Tsk tsk ;).
It's only Budweiser so I don't think it counts :p
@resto_d1 You've learnt yourself a bit mate. You need to be more careful with your fingers, they don't grow on trees after all ;). There is a fair amount of useful information in your thread. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Keep up the good work.
I sorta liked your idea to use the sills as holding tanks til I remembered that right angles in pressure vessels
are a really bad idea. pressure vessels are cylindrical in order to distribute the pressure evenly. Not that you will have to
worry about it, anyone capable of making the welds understands the liability and wouldn't bet their livelihoods on it.
Keep the shiny side up.

@resto_d1 i have some spare hinges if you want them. They have just been removed from mine.

That's kind of you - I'll check how good hers are. I know the door itself was dead but not sure on hinges. Didn't pay so much attention.

I've had to walk away from the axle tonight. Got home and drill bit was there. Drill went blunt at the top before I got through the dead stud. I got it deep enough to get the coil in but couldn't tap the end out. No idea why I tried to fit it
Guess I was just getting frustrated
I'm going to get a few 6mm hss bits from work and as soon as one stops cutting I'll use a fresh one. Driving me nuts. Hard not to get really p!ssed off sometimes. Once I've sent the drill bit through it should be ok

yu saying cobalt drills are getting blunt that quick?
Yes it's just the tip of it trying to break through that stud. Chomped through the beginning then died. Also, I kept all the bolts together as you do. I have two bolts for the stub axle which look 2mm more than the others and have matching nylocs....

Hi all. I had an itch I had to scratch. I don' know where it came from but I've been scanning eBay for months looking at green badge stuff. I haven' had a project car for a long time and when I did they were petrol jap imports. Living in Wiltshire and doing a lot of fishing and getting out and about with the dog, I'd decided a needed something dirty and manly! I've also recently inherited my late grandads tools who I was close to. I feel this project will make his tools like on and carry on his trade.
SO,

despite being a bit more off road aimed than I wanted, I found a local d1 and purchased it to restore. I knew it would be rotten, I knew it would take me months and that was the whole point. I don't have the skill or knowledge to do a series and thought a 300tdi would be a good starting point.
Shame they are woodworking tools eh

@resto_d1 got this far today.
Forklift & space helps

Took me two days to get to there lol
Nice work!!

I may actually go on a road trip to a guy who's got a few breakers and get a another axle case. It's ****ing me off that the holes just not Bob on

Haha just discos I'm afraid. Yeah have a think. If it's colossal you can get in the passenger seat and removal it yourself :p
