Heya guys.

I'm having a little trouble getting my Beast started after a full rebuild, it's a 2.5na.

I've bled the system fully to the bleed nipple on the fuel filter, I've bled it to the top of the spill lines on the injector and I've also bled it fully to the bleed nipple on the pump, I've removed the bleed nipple when cranking and fuel comes out nicely, I've taken the bottom pipe off in the pic below when cranking and fuel comes out in small short bursts

I'm jus lost now, the engine turns freely when cranking just absolutely no signs of it even trying to fire,

One thing I did notice is that my oil light on my dash is not on. I presume this is the oil connector on the top of the head?

There's also this wire which I can't figure out where it connects to, it's on the sand line that goes to the starter motor, alternator ect.

Ok after more reading I found the oil pressure switch near the filter, I will need to get that connected, would that stop the engine from starting?

No but you need to sort it before trying to start a newly rebuilt engine. Can you imagine how you would feel if for some reason you didn't have oil pressure and didn't know about it and toasted your rebuilt engine!
As for turning freely - do you mean it sounds like it cranks fast (low compression), if so double check cam timing, pump timing and valve clearances.

It cranks freely, fan turns, I looked under oil filler cap and the bits and bods are moving up and down, I forgot what there called lol. I'll have a google and see how to check those things

as long as you put it all back together correctly :D

crack each injector pipe like above until fuel is coming out on cranking.

keep cranking it in no more than 10 sec bursts and stick the glows on or try a tow start.

my old 2.25 was a bitch to bleed.. i've not had a 2.5na though.

My 19j was a sod to start after I put it all back together.

Bled the system through, manually filled the fuel filter with diesel, checked timing and stuff...

Cranked with a whiff of easy-start, and she fired and ran nicely.

I just done the valve clearances and each one was completely shut, no clearance at all , I've adjusted then all to 0.010mm. Eating some chicken wings then I'm going to reattach the wires then try to restart. I did change all the push rods as a bunch were bent so I suspect that's what's stopping it

oh, when you said full rebuild.. you meant your landy, not the engine?

if you rebuilt the engine and missed the above, then err i'd worry :D

What's happened to the engine to cause the above? hydrolocked? Have you ever ran this engine before?
