The nipples on my 2004 TD5 Defender is badly rusted and needs replacing. On e-bay they sell stainless ones, but none look like the Landy ones. Does anybody know whether you can get SS ones of the correct size and if so, where.

Not offhand, but you could probably get the same effect much cheaper by coating the new standard nipples with grease after you have done them up.

Be very careful getting the rusted one out, I know from experience how easily rusted steel ones break off in motorcycle calipers!

Cheap tip that just works, is to fill the little rubber cap with any old grease before refitting it to the nipple.
Stainless has its place, but is dead easy to shear off in the smaller sizes.

Thanks for all the advice. Have got a friend that restores old Wolsleys and he is going to give me a hand as a dab hand at rusty lumps.
