Check the yellow wire under the steering column or the wires under the seats for bad connections

As OVAL said, if you're lucky, it's a poor connection. If it's a newish Rangie you should have airbags in the seats and the underseat connectors can be fragile. All Rangies have a bag in the steering wheel connected through the rotary coupler. All the wiring is yellow.
BE CAREFUL - remember that you're playing with airbags. The safe way is to disconnect the battery, have a long cuppa (30 mins) then start investigating. keep your face away from the bags.
You have already been told the possible causes of this. The spare wire is for the clutch pedal position switch fitted to manual cars. If you switched the ignition on with any of the SRS plugs disconnected you will have logged a fault in the SRS ECU. If you have had the dash out you must have removed the passenger airbag and disconnected it, also the instrument panel SRS plug. Check all the connections. You may need diag to clear the fault even if they are all now in place IF you turned ignition on whilst disconnected.

Yours is a 95 model so no side airbags. Don't worry about checking under the seats then.
It is either the front passenger airbag or the one in the steering wheel. Both have bright yellow wiring and connectors. The steering wheel has a rotary coupling which wears out over time and needs to be replaced.
Hard to say which is the cause without a diagnostics tool such as Nanocom or FaultMate. With any luck, a member of the forum in your area will pay you a visit in exchange for a cuppa and a biscuit
