I've been after a 110 Hi-cap for years.
I found this one on eBay last weekend, and bought it.
Arranged to go and collect it, I had to borrow a trailer as there was no MOT and tax.
On the way there my 300tdi Disco decided it had had enough, and threw a strop by blowing it's head-gasket.
After getting recovered home, I borrowed my bosses 110 puma and tried again the next day.
I know most of us have read some really good rebuild threads on 'ere (JC1's and 200tdiayre spring to mind), but I have nowhere near the talent of either of those guys!
Most of the work will be done on my drive, with just a domestic tool-kit. Although I do have access to my mate Phil, who is a mechanic and MOT tester.
I also don't have tonnes of money, so any parts fitted have either been saved up for, or scavenged from the now dead Disco.
The plan for the 110 is to be a working vehicle. I work for a couple of foresters/tree-surgeons, run a riding stables and do a lot of shooting in the winter.
So, any up-grades will be done to make the 110 more practical.
Anyway on with the piccies!!
On the trailer with the bosses Puma

And off the trailer.

Bulkhead looks good.

The empty interior.

After having removed 3 wheel-barrowfulls of West Sussex mud from the pick up bed.

The driver's door is gonna need some work!!

Trial fitting the Disco alloys with my M/T tyres. That looks better!!

Oh, and a quick snap of the rear of the chassis. Me and Phil can find no sign of any welding!

More to follow.
Stay tuned sports fans!
