who was the lad on here who resprayed his landy VW POLO red? tried to find the post on it and had no luck ....?

It's a bit cold for painting this time of year, you will really struggle to get it to cure unless you have a heated garage. What prep did you do beforehand? I usually sand / wire brush then wipe down with thinners let that evaporate and then paint

i knoww but it looked a wreck just because of the cross memeber. pulled up next to a 61 plate defender 90 looked mint was real jellous was like i had a hole in me kecks with the cross memeber lookin nude!

i used wire brush methylated spirits then wetdry and methylated spirits then taped it all up and got a bit spray happy :bump2:

looks good just dont touch it might jet wash it all off and have another go might prime it and spray it then lacquer it.

i was thinkin about using that ruff paint they use for flatbed painting looks quite good. what ya think?

You would need an oven to get that to cure, I use just black hammerite on mine, but even at that I don't think it will cure below 10 c. So you might have to live with it just now. I would probably get the previous attempt off with jet wash as it will trap moisture behind it and live with a scabby rear end at the moment😆

mine is painted black with Waxoil and it looks good and once dry does not come of on your clothes .

There is waxoyl paint that will dry and waxoyl under body seal which always stays tacky

ooooww its dried finaly.. looks good now

it hammerite black spray paint so when i put the first coat on it got a chance to dry so i dont know if it will still have water behind it but dont think thats comming off anytime soon....:boink:

I got a tin of hammerite 'direct to rust' from wilco. Brush painted it on 18 months ago and it's still fine. It goes in the garage out of the rain at night though.

I used Eastwood Chassis black, looks good, nice and shiny. And hopefully tough. But only time will tell. Also did my rear axle in it.
