Evening all,

Quick question - the clutch has just been done on my Td5 disco... The first proper run was today - around 200 miles.

However, I've already got the typical squealing / groaning sounds from when slipping clutch in reverse / first.. I'm thinking spigot Bush?

I don't know if it was changed allong with the clutch - it was done just before I brought it!

What're people's thoughts on this? Am I risking doing any damage if I leave this?

Or should I bite the bullet and drop the gearbox out just to take care of the damned Bush?

Many thanks!

If it's the spigot bush(seems so based on the symptom) and not something else then no other issues than the annoying noise... remember next time to not miss it when the gearbox is removed

Just as a guide. How much did you pay for the clutch to be replaced. Need mine doing and am looking at options, including doing it myself...

Did you have the same noise prior to the clutch being done ? It does sound like a spigot bush though...

it wont cause any harm, chances are if theyve fitted a new one its too tight
Oddly, it seems to have got worse over the last week or so... The noise is there anytime I go near the clutch in any gear.

Ive heard about them needing to be reamed sometimes... I suppose it'll be unlikey to 'bed in' with time?

If not, I reckon I'll have to do it soon - pretty embarrassing when everyone in the vicinity turns their head round as you pull off!

Sorry mate, was done just before I brought the truck! Someone I know just had their clutch done on a td5 defender, think he paid around £1400 in total with parts and a couple of leaky seals being sorted etc...
