Just wondered if anyone might know anything about Landies with a
"Special vehicles" tag rivetted to the engine-bay cross-member.
cheers

They are vehicles built by the landrover 'special vehicles' division which means they have been built 'non standard'.

The plate should contain a build number which when checked with the special vehicles division should give a list of the modifications.

I am pretty sure I am right in saying all commercial discos and freelanders are special vehicles

Nice one, thanks ratty.
Mine is a 300tdi Disco, ES model
I think it was a demo Landy as it has all the gubbings
electric everything and air con, front and back.

Mine is an ex NORWEB 110 with the early utility station wagon back end.:)
