Having been having to drive an “All new Discovery” for the last 3 weeks (as a loaner, it’s definitely not mine), I’ve been visiting the Disco 5 Forum, just to see what goes on there.
Here’s an interesting example of an ask for help:
“Checking my home network I noticed a device I didn't recognise (I name them all logically and give them specific IP addresses) so I blocked it from connecting via MAC address. It never used much data so that's not the issue, I just don't want a freeloader. The WIFI is WPA2 protected. I'm now trying to figure out what it was, and one possibility is the car connecting to WIFI at home. Whatever it is, it must be in or close to the house as it will reconnect.
When you check out the devices on your network with the Discovery connected, is the MAC address for the Discovery linked to LG or FN-LINK ? Or neither?“
Now you know all about the sorts of “problems” that keeps D5 owners awake at night; it’s not all about making sure that the infotainment display matches the display on their iPhone you know, some of it is serious!
