When you've finished driving around and you know the engine is going to be cold when you next start it (in the morning etc) you de-select veg by flipping the switch up. The control unit will switch from veg to diesel and wait 90 seconds for the diesel to get through the system then bleep. If you switch off without flushing it will complain at you to let you know you havent flushed the veg out.
Purging the system is slightly different. You switch the switch 5 times and it goes into purge mode. You only do this after the initial set up or when you know you've blown loads of air into the fuel system.
It does take a few miles to warm up and 'allow' you to switch the veg on but I'm still getting 2:1 ratio of veg to diesel.
