Just seen my neighbour and he told me 2 guys where trying to get into my landy last night :( dont know if they where trying to get tools out of it or nick the car, joke would be on them either way, tools are worth nothing and the oil coolers leaking so would get all of a few hundred meters ! but got me abit worried they are going to come back so i have emptied out the landy and looked as if they had tryed the spare wheel locking nut so taken spare off and its in the boot. Im going to get a bike lock to put on the spare, really frustrated as its not parked in a stupid place its right under a street lamp on a side road but first car on the side road so very visible from main road. Any of you got any advice or tricks you've done to add further security?

I once fitted a disable switch on an old car of mine, was just a cut in a critical cable (it was a petrol car so it was the coil feed) and ran that back into the car and put a switch under the dash. This worked a treat because they very rarely fix an issue when trying to nick a car.

Or you could paint it pink.

Paint it pink hmmmm that may work lol! Yeah have a fuel pump cut off, its more the getting in the car that i wanna stop as i like to keep a few tools etc in back just incase

I use to wire up the hand brake lever from the HT coil so when they get it running they get the shocking experience and usually bail after the second attempt to release the hand brake.

just usean isolation switch and hide it, by the time the thieving scrotes have tried to work out what is wrong they will probably give up and try somewhere else. we have two on ours. a bit of a pain switching them on but at least the landy is safe.

hopefully they will see you have made an effort to make it more secure and know someone was watching them

Love the handbrake lever idea from rangy35, thinking how I could do that on a diesel. Such fun!!!:screaming_bug_eye_f

Super rich to poor in a mile or so I don't miss Barnet

I would wait for them to come back and show them how much you love your land rover.theiving scum**** like this will never be missed.

Put as many visible locks on as u can. I.e: disc lock, handbrake/gear stick lock, foot pedal lock, etc. the more they see the less likely they are to have a go. Defo like the idea of handbrake to ht. heard of a fella once who had a motorbike down his side path tht these thieving scumbags kept trying to get hold of so he hooked it up to his mains. Heard a very loud bang one night went out to find a very crispy tea leaf! Unfortunately all this led to a court case. Well worth it though!
