had a fire last week got told it was my solenoid to starter cable but on stripping out the burnt cable i found it is going to the back of my altenator
there is three cables all taped up going to my soleniod two browns and a yellow and brown half way up the cable was a blue wire going to a senser at top of block but at the soleniod end there is only two coming out of the sleeving ,i cant seem to find one anywhere or even know wot to ask for ,can i just make up a wire and just join all the three cables from the altenator and conect it to the soleniod please i need some advice i got mot coming up at end of month

The two brown wires are the current feed from the alternator and the voltage sense back to the regulator. Assuming the alternator isn't fried you can just replace these two wires - I'm not sure what size of wire you need but they're reasonably thick. Join them at the solenoid end. The yellow/brown wire goes to the ignition warning light and the blue one I'm not sure about - it's not on my wiring diagram but I suspect it goes from the cold start switch on the choke cable to the thermostatic switch on the block. Do you have a wiring diagram?
