Hello.
I have a slight battery drain which is getting on my nerves !!
I want to make the rear 12v socket live , going to wire it direct to battery unless theres an easier way ?
Can anyone suggest the best 12v solar power charger that will charge the battery ?
Should I get a 12 v regulator for it to stop the solar panel overcharging the battery ?
Any recommendations for the solar panel and ( regulator ) ?
Any help gratefully recieved :):)

hi, why not find battery drain fault " of wich certain drains will continue if not resolved " rather than complicate by adding other chargers etc etc most prolific battery drain is caused by r.f. receiver !!!!!!! is the b.e.c.m. switching off 1-2 minutes after removing key from ignition i.e. red light goes off ?? cheers mozz

As Mozz said find the drain but if you want a good panel, try one of these:-
NEW 20W 12v Energy+ Solar Battery Charger - Polycrystalline - 20 watt TUV ISO UK | eBay
I can give you a link to a low cost controller if you wish.:)

Use a clamp meter, could be heated screen if demist used as seen this before

Other causes of battery drain are the alternator and the fuse box degrading, possibly also the headlamp wipers not parking correctly.

Have you got headlight wipers? I seem to remember one of these jamming causing a battery drain.

Bloody Data, he might be getting on but he's still quick on the old keyboard. I'll bet he uses more than one finger as well!!
:D

If there is interest I would be happy to see if a low cost kit is viable.
MHM does cables so may be able to do a nice kit cheap- just a thought

Datatek
If he wont post them to you , he can post them to me and I will forward them on to you :)
The seller has opened up his sales to Europe with a reasonable postage charge so I have just ordered 2 panels and 2 charge controllers. The panels look good, not sure about the controllers but they are so cheap that they are worth a gamble.
