If there is a blanking cap on the new battery where the breather pipe should connect, it needs to be removed and the breather pipe fitted, if it cannot be fitted, then leave the cap out, otherwise there can be a build-up of gas pressure inside the battery.

And all the idiots thinking it's dodgy, all this does is provide power to the car when the battery is totally flat and nothing - including the bonnet - can be opened. You still need the keys with immobiliser chip etc etc. It's not a way of stealing a car.

I also think the previous mentioned way in was mechanical not with fobs. So technically it could tell you how to just gain entry to steal from inside the car or load on trailer.
So no I don’t consider it a comment to warrant calling carful members idiots.

Absolutely not.
As I stated in my original post, all this does is provide power to a totally dead system. It won't open anything without the correct key/fob. The doors, bonnet, boot will not open, unless the key is used with the fob.
I tried going through the tow bar electrics when this happened to me. It was a royal pain. If you are 20 years old, fit as a fiddle and can get down on your knees to see what you are doing, then go for it and go in via the tow bar electrics! For me it was much easier to use the number plate light.
