I worked in computers all my life, but to me all this "connected" stuff is a step too far. The tentacles of the state are drawing ever tighter around the general public.
I work in computers now and it really boggles my mind. People expect things and make demands but don't understand what they are asking so i have to jump through hoops to satisfy ignorant people who are sadly in the power to dictate what's good and what's bad

I was designer, manufacturer and maintainer of mini computers but as you say, the demands placed by customers on software developers was often unrealistic

He did post this (as his first post), word for word, in the Defender forum.

I questioned his choice of group/forum too.

Disconnect the starter battery for 20 minutes, then reconnect and the software session should start again after the ignition has been cycled. If that doesn't work then it'll be a trip to the dealers (or don't worry about it until service time) as the supervisory software has been known to create 'race conditions' in the update queue. How long did you leave it? Sometimes it needs to be 24 hours and the battery needs to be well charged beforehand.
