Hello I'm after a snorkel (preferably a safari) for my 1996 3.9 V8i (ABS model).

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks, have you any experience with these safari style replicas, Is the build quality as good as the genuine safari?

I was looking at them a while ago but wasn't too sure about the build quality.
 
Got a brand shiny new safari snorkel for a 3.9 sat in the house. Everything is there even the cardboard template (that is currently laying flat on top of a cabinet), bar the big box it came in as it was easier to man handle the stuff out of the box.

If I get chance I'll round it up and take some photys later.

Make me an offer chap obvs after I've digged out the model number for you to check its the right one for you!


Apparently the cheapy ones are OK, but the plastics are a bit dubious in quality.

Its whether its the ABS model or not, I have a friend who may be able to make it fit if its the wrong one but I will have to check with him.

Mrnice... you have PM sir! I'm pretty sure it can be made to fit. I was planning on mating it to my 300tdi but have never got round to it as I'm a lazy sod and life just got in the way.

Hehe Cheers buddy, I'm just checking it out now, I feel it could be made to fit onto the airbox my only concern is if my ABS modulator is going to be in the way. I'll let you know what I find out.
 
Slowly but surely buddy :)

It will take some adapting and moving of the air filter box, problem is the LPG regulator is where the air filter box will need to move to :mad:

My mate will be back soon so I can pick his brains (he fitted my LPG).

My biggest concern is if it will fit with my ABS modulator being where it is, if it wont then I'm in trouble.

No probs chap. It's all tucked away nicely in its quilt. Waiting. It's dream is a life straddling a V8. It's nightmare is me, an angle grinder and my triggers broom of a 300tdi. ;)
 
Hehe, looking after her, she has been taking Naproxen 500mg and Ibuprofens since it happened and has been feeling like **** all day, told the doc and he flipped mentioning possible liver and stomach damage and if she starts throwing up blood to phone him immediately :eek: just made her a cheese omelette and she's on the sofa watching some ****e with Twunt and Dick or whatever they are called :D

I will have it anyway and figure it out later but will need to pull a little cash in, if you PM me your PayPal I will send you £100 now and the rest within a week, you obviously hold onto it until I've paid you in full.

I will send it as a gift so they don't charge you your end.
