Can't see water coming down the A pillars but i have a small puddle collecting on the rubber mat in the passenger footwell. Seems like water is dripping straight down onto the mat but I cannot see from where. Carpet seems dry, roof lining same. Any ideas please?

Sun roof has been sealed and the roof bars were upgraded to the G4 ones fairly recently. Can't rule either of those out however.

Is there an aircon issue that can cause this sort of puddling?

yes! the drain tubes either side of gearbox, you have to get underneath and look hard to find em

As already said check your air con drains. If they are blocked the water backs up until it leaks inside the car. If you lie under the car and look up to just in front of where the gearstick would be then they are 2 short tubes one each side of the bulkhead.

Give them a squeeze and see what comes out but be warned if they are blocked you will get water running down your arm.

A useful check in the summer is that there are 2 puddles under the car when it has been parked after being driven with the air con on cold.

My defender was pouring in mainly at drivers side just put new rubber round windscreen I used a genuine land rover one. It's rained hard since and so far no water is getting in.:)

But then the 300 D1 and D2s screams are bonded.

if its in the midle of the floor mat it might be coming in at the heater blower fan
the fix is to remove scuttle panel at the bottm of windscreen then what i done was to remove rubber seal good clean up refit seal and taped up the back of the seal so it sits right in position when refited i also used a bit of flashband over the blower inlet to redirect any water to either side of the inlet

Thanks Mike, that sounds just right. So am I right in thinking all the work you mention above is done on the outside?
