G'day.
So been working on my RRC with the engine out when the torque converter fell out, and dumped a load of oil on the floor.
Is this now worth scrap value, and should be washed in petrol and dried with a match? Was thinking of phoning Ashcrofts to get their advise?
If it fine, what grade of oil is used in it?

Cheers

it helps to use 2 long m10 bolts screwed into securing blocks you will need to feel and rotate the t/c over the splines and the pump drive you need to feel 3 drops as it locates in each, its easiest with box bell housing up, once fitted measure from one of the securing blocks to face of bell housing, then measure from rear face of engine to outer face of drive plate, t/c need to be 1-2mm shorter

Never had a automatic out, never needed to have 1 serviced
the american boxes ive had anything to do with are generally cheaper to rebuild with an extensive rebuild kit ,unlike many other like zf were parts are sold individually and as units and are very pricey, a few years ago the rr gm box you could get any part you wanted zf box was difficult
