Simple query, Battery light stays on when I start up but just until I rev up and pull off ( Battery is 6 mnths old), does this mean engine is turning over too slowly? should I turn idle up slightly or leave it alone?

Thanks

If it goes out when you rev up its fin, needs revs to excite, if it only goes out when you drive away them you have a bad connection

In the old days charging lamp just flickering was used to set idle speed. With an alternator it should go off straight away. Increase idle RPM slightly and see what you get.

X1 it stays on when you are driving the battery isn't charging. Indicates a problem potentially with the alternator or a very slack fan belt.

Had this issue with my series from day one. Light stays on after start up. I have to rev it up so the light goes out but it stays off until I restart it.
Can't be bothered sodding about with it so no idea why it does it. The fan belt is ok though.
Try sitting quietly for a few moments and the feeling to fix it will pass.
