We have recently purchased a 04 sport, stationwagon, it doesn't have any side steps on , I have been searching the net for some, came across sidestepsuk. , claim a 10 min fit each side , I don't think they use the rivnuts , just hooks.

I was wondering if any one has had any experiance with these?

If I purchase straight from the factory they come in at 187 posted there's an eBay seller doing them for 155 posted .

I have side steps on the freelander i have just bought, and if you ask me they are a pain in the ass. To small to use as a step, and to big to step over without getting ****e up the back of your best slacks. :wtf:

I have one with and one without (side steps) and have to agree with above, unless you want to put bikes etc on roof rack.

The hook type seems to work OK JMHE

I have the tapered side-steps, and while I agree about the 'mud on the trousers' bit, I have to say that they do keep the crud down on the lower half of the doors.

The rubber rubbing strip helps too of course.

But I really need the step to reach the roof -box easily.
