As the Four Tops would say - "Walk Away Renee"

Dealers arne't called Stealers for nothing.

There's LOTS of other Freelanders out there for sale......

Service stamps in my opinion mean nothing anyone can get a service book stamped if they really wanted to.What you need is receipts for parts and mileage on the vehicle when the parts or jobs were done.My free lander was serviced from day one by various garages before i took ownership but most of what was supposed to have been done had not been.I do all my own servicing well 90% of it! got a mate who owns his own garage that does odd bits for me but i know i can trust him.Anyway things like the crankcase breather filter cheap enough part to replace but can be slightly time consuming mine was absolutely clogged this could cause very serious problems if not changed.Garages did not do mine.My Free lander is outstanding both externally and mechanically and i am 100% confident in it's reliability because since i took ownership in APRIL this year i joined this forum listened to all the guys advice and words of wisdom and took on the servicing role myself. Yes it probably helps that i am a service engineer by trade (Forklifts and electrical trucks) and that i am familiar with working with tools but listen to what these guys tell you and you can't go far wrong (thanks guys) .I'm also pretty confident that when the time comes for me to trade up another Land rover i will have all the receipts for any work i do when i did it and what the mileage was. This is better than any service stamp from a garage and anyone interested in buying a Land rover from someone who can prove his knowledge is priceless.Hope this helps.

Sorry about late reply...I don't get email notifacations

Anyway I got the freelander....forgot to mention he was asking 1750 for it.

The service history is comprehensive not only service stamps but loads of receipts for work done and parts purchased...clutch fitted, trimming belt etc etc....also had a full engine replacement under warranty at 46000 miles (93000 shown when I picked it up) I had this confirmed by the dealers at a later date. It also turned out the car is an S model not a sport...the original buyer was a soldier based in Germany who bought it through the BFPO scheme so it was and is a full UK spec, and he purchased the body kit as well as the 15" alloys and land rover CD unit from the dealer at a cost of over 3000 quid (paper work shows this but it is in German)
Anyway had it nearly 15mth now and been over the moon with it...so far iv only put new pads, back box, full coolant flush with new header tank and cap, and reverse light switch on it as well as the usual oil n filter services...it goes in to a garage tomorrow for trimming belt, tensioner, water pump all for peace of mind but the cat cracked yesterday so I'm putting a used one on and getting old one welded for a spare.

If done a few personal touches 18" wheels carbon bits a pieces etc

Oh and the 'trader' I done the swap with....only got 1100 quid for me vectra...so think I done well

Glad it's worked out ok so far. I've had four 1.8 Freelanders without any real issues, one of those I'd tuned to 140 bhp!!
If you keep checking the coolant every week, investigating any loss straight away they can be trouble free.
