I was so excited about my new 4.4 vogue petrol HSE.
I took it for a mechanical check and once over.
Dealer condemned it.
Over £3k to fix steering.
Over £600 for new door lock handle and keys.
He never even priced for the suspension.
Get rid of the car had said.

Who wants it?

Dilemma.
In the RR stable 2 weeks.
Shall I trade it in?

A sad and salutary tale, you either need very deep pockets or the ability to DIY with these vehicles, reliable they are not.

Hi Mr Glossy and welcome to RR ownership.
As Keith said above ^^^ not the most reliable things in the world, however you can also be very lucky or unlucky with them...

What exactly is wrong with the steering??

How much did you pay for her if you don't mind my asking, mileage etc?

@Mr_glossy if you give us a better idea of the faults, there may be a less expensive option. Also , did you buy it private or trade? If trade does your warranty cover issues, and you have consumer rights.

The steering wheel sits in the low position and cannot be raised or lowered for comfort. It actually lifts sometimes cornering.

I bought it privately on gumtree. I have it advertised on gumtree.
1. The steering lifts and lowers to two positions. But sits in the lowest when driving.
2. Central locking with the key doesn't work.
3. Key doesn't lock or open door.
4. Suspension inactive message.

Hang on a second ........... @Saint.V8 , @backinblack , @Henry_b any ideas?
The guys just mentioned may respond now, and be able to help
1: Might be a fuse / ecu/ or the well known column issue. Above my pay grade , but plenty of threads, if you search your issue is most likely in one of them.
2: Could be new battery, or needs resynch or small plastic transponder lost when changing battery
3: Do you mean physically or remotely? Remotely see No2. Physically, search for door latch failure.
4: Have you tried right , to left , reset? If yes and it remains there could be several reasons. My guess would be height sensor or steering sensor.

Almost everything has an answer. Don't be so keen to bin her, if you like her.

P.s look around the forum called Local LZers. See if anyone is in your area. Then put up a post asking for recommendations for an indy specialist.

P.p.s Depending which side of Glasgow, a little run to Gibsons in Cumnock is worth it.

@ the gurus , would the advisories below , mess up the senaors position and bring up a suspension error?

  • Nearside Rear Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement bottom (5.3.4 (a) (i))
  • Offside Front Suspension arm ball joint has slight play bottom

Hey there, sorry for the bad news, seriously, you did test drive this bus didn't you before you bought it??
It could be, there were some of these issues there when you bought it. But now have been made aware by the repair shop?? Do you think you were mislead when you bought it maybe??

How much do yo want for it, if you trade it in..... a trader will just shove it up someone else's ar$e
I could take it on for the mechanical repairs but im mega busy with boat repairs so it would be a couple of
months before I get near it as ive got a project to complete before I start on something else.

I also would recommend Gibsons in Cumnock
They know their Landies and fair priced and been around a long time

Yes I did test drive it. I asked about the suspension issue. Chap said he put a new battery in.
Never checked the locking. ( how silly) steering I thought.... easy fix.
I had £3000 to fix it up.
Probably need 6k

Don't give up hope mate.
There are some seriously clever people on this forum, and they'll be more than happy to give advice where they can :)
